2019 Season

2019 was a busy season, marking the 300th Anniversary of the founding of the Regiment.

In May we journeyed to Nederland returning to the wonderful town of Almelo where we attended as Royal Navy joining up with our European friends Royal Marine Landing Party.

in June we visited Caerphilly Castle for a weekend of still and a recruiting party visited Bedwellty later in the month.

July we ventured into Mid Wales and had a split weekend in Broneirion House and at Llanfair Railway

August we attended a Multi-period event at Margam Park, Port Talbot.  It was nice to meet up with old friends, but it was also a sad occasion as we said goodbye to great friend of our groyp, Phil "Buck" Day. We were given the honour of firing party at the scattering of his ashes at the Abbey.

Later in the month we attended a major European event at Veere, again as Royal Navy with Commodore Rogers leading the Naval Brigade

September we welcomed back our Canadian brothers to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the founding of the 41st Foot. Parades and displays at Caerphilly Castle, Brecon Barracks and Cardiff Castle over the weekend were followed by a visit to the Royal Hospital Chelsea where the original regiment was founded. We were honoured to receive a guided tour of the Hospital by the curator of the Hospital and finished with a display of the Drums and Pipes and a still display

Later in September we attended events at Norman's Cross and in Wuurstwezel, Belgium.

On a lighter theme our final event of 2019 was to escort the Mayor of Pontardawe Cllr Nicholson and the guest of honour, Father Christmas.

2018 Mid Season report.

With the re-enactment season in full flow, the 41st has found itself at a number of great events already.

In May a small detachment went to Quatre Bras in Brussels at the invitation of the Royal Navy and Marines Landing Party, a Re-enactment group based in Germany.

shortly after in June the group split forces and a detachment attended the Barry island armed forces day parade while a larger detachment went to Malta, where our commanding officer was recruited to take command of a 3rd brigade made up of international re-enactor.

Then July saw the group attend Fort Belan in North Wales for some drill practice both infantry and cannon with some fantastic weather.

We are now looking forward to the rest of the year where we still have events in, Llanciach fawr Manor in nelson, Margam park and then the Norman cross event in Peterborough

2015

Last year was a busy one for the 41st, travelling to Belgium twice, the first being an event in Hoogstraten. Here there was a fantasic battle re-enacted, and we had a great time.

The second visit was to stand guard at the British Ambassador to Belgium's Duchess of Richmond Ball, and we hope to attend again in 2015.

2015 is dominated by the Bicenterary of the Battle of Waterloo, however the 41st did not participate in the actual battle and so we will not be attending the re-enactment.

We will however still be busy this as can be seen in our events list.

If you would like to engage the 41st for an event this year, please do contact us as we will always consider any requests. It might be worth having a look at our events page to check for dates available.
